Challenges for air defense and international support
The President emphasized the need for the development of European systems to counter ballistic missiles and support from partners to protect Ukrainian infrastructure. He stressed that without such systems, the war could drag on, and attacks would continue.
“The large-scale attack and the absolutely transparent statement from Russia: if Ukraine is not protected from ballistic and other missile strikes, these strikes will continue. Europe needs its own anti-ballistic systems so that this war can finally end. And the assistance of the United States in supplying missiles to the Patriots is absolutely necessary. We count on the support of our partners and effective responses to today’s strike.”
