Main Topics of the Upcoming Meeting

According to one of the officials, Volodymyr Zelensky plans to discuss military diplomacy and strengthening air defense with the summit participants. Special attention will be given to measures to counter ballistic missile attacks from the Russian Federation, which pose a serious threat to Ukraine’s security.

Preparation for the Summit and Diplomatic Context

In March of this year, an advisor to the French president reported that Zelensky was not invited to the summit scheduled for June 15-17. However, the situation has now changed, and the participation of the Ukrainian president is becoming one of the key events of the meeting of world leaders.

“Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to attend the ‘Group of Seven’ summit at the end of this month in France, three officials familiar with plans to invite the Ukrainian president said.”

The spokesperson for the Élysée Palace, which is organizing the G7 summit, has not yet commented on the possible presence of Volodymyr Zelensky at the event.
