Personnel changes in the leadership of Ukraine’s regions continue in January 2026. As reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, the Cabinet of Ministers conducted interviews with candidates for the positions of heads of regional military administrations in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Chernivtsi regions.

The Government Submitted Nominations for New Heads of Regional Military Administrations to the President
Based on the results of the interviews, the government decided to submit nominations to the president for approval of candidates for the positions of heads of the specified regional military administrations.
“Based on their results, the government submitted a proposal to the president for the appointment of these candidates as heads of the regional military administrations,” Svyrydenko stated.
Strengthening Regional Resilience and Personnel Rotations
The Prime Minister emphasized that one of the key tasks of the government is to strengthen the resilience of regions, especially those areas located near combat zones. She identified defense, support for veterans, education development, industry, and community issues as priorities.
Recently, President Volodymyr Zelensky also reported on conducting interviews with candidates for the positions of heads of five regional military administrations. Throughout 2024, the heads of the Poltava and Vinnytsia regions were dismissed. Additionally, in October 2025, Serhiy Lysak left the position of head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, after which he took over the city military administration of Odesa.
