Consequences of the Work: A Lost Wall and Damage to the Foundation

“Recently, the public, along with the police, managed to access the construction site at 3v-3h Mazepa Street… We saw that another wall had disappeared from the monument. There is an increasing amount of broken historical bricks and construction tools around the foundations. Behind it is already the monolith of the new building. There is water in the basements,” the activists reported.

According to the activists, the area of the palace remains is gradually losing its integrity. With each passing day, more fragments of historical bricks and signs of construction work appear at the site of the monument, while a new building is already being erected nearby. The water in the basement poses an additional threat, which could lead to further destruction of the foundation.

Action Plan of Public Organizations

In response to the situation, representatives of the organizations “Heritage” and “Hetman Garrison” announced the establishment of constant monitoring of the cultural heritage site.

They plan to monitor the condition of the monument daily to prevent its complete destruction. Public activists have called on all concerned Kyiv residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities at the site of the monument to the relevant authorities or directly contact them via private messages.
