Court in Kyiv Arrests National Guard Colonel on Suspicion of Corruption in Drone Procurement

The High Anti-Corruption Court has ruled to arrest the commander of a military unit of the National Guard of Ukraine in a case concerning corruption in the procurement of drones and electronic warfare equipment.

According to the investigation, law enforcement uncovered a scheme for embezzling funds during the procurement of drones (UAVs) and electronic warfare equipment. The money for these purchases in 2024-2025 was allocated by local government bodies to meet the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

“The investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially supported the position of the SAP prosecutor and applied a preventive measure in the form of detention for the commander of the military unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, with an alternative of posting a bail of two million hryvnias,” the information states.

Details of the Arrest and Charges

On Tuesday, the court took into custody the commander of the military unit, Colonel Vasyl Myshanskyi of the National Guard. The alternative to detention has been set at a bail of two million hryvnias. According to the case materials, Myshanskyi is suspected of involvement in the embezzlement of funds during tenders for the procurement of drones and electronic warfare equipment for Ukrainian military formations.

Anti-corruption agencies continue to investigate the circumstances of this case, which may have significant implications for the transparency of public procurement in the defense sector.
