There are 183 patients with COVID-19 currently hospitalized in Kyiv

From August 25 to 31, the capital recorded 1,068 new cases of coronavirus infection. This is a 4.7% decrease compared to the previous week, indicating a gradual decline in the rate of infection spread.
Incidence Trends Among Different Age Groups
Of the total number of infected, 849 cases are among adults (last week this figure was 933), while 219 are among children (which is an increase compared to 188 in the previous week). The most affected age group is individuals aged 30 to 64, accounting for 50.1% of all cases.
Increase in Hospitalizations and Emergence of a New Strain
Despite the decrease in new cases, medical professionals note an increase in hospitalizations. Last week, 183 patients with COVID-19 were admitted to hospitals, including 102 children. Seven adults were in intensive care units, primarily individuals aged 65 and older.
“Overall, the incidence in 2025 remains 1.7 times lower than during the same period last year,” noted the Kyiv City Center for Public Health.
Additionally, healthcare workers reminded that since July, cases of infection with the new strain of the coronavirus, Stratus (XFG), have been laboratory confirmed in Kyiv.
