Temporary restrictions on the entry of freight transport into Kyiv
Over the next three days, drivers of heavy trucks should expect difficulties entering Kyiv. The reason for these measures is the forecasted abnormal heat, prompting city services to implement restrictions for large vehicles.
Movement of heavy vehicles will be restricted on days of elevated temperatures
“On July 4, 7, and 8, the movement of heavy vehicles will be restricted in Kyiv due to the expected heat,” the statement says.
According to the road service, the restrictions will apply to all vehicles with a total weight exceeding 24 tons and axle loads exceeding 7 tons. These measures will be implemented if the air temperature reaches above +28°C. City services explain that this will help preserve the road surface from premature damage in hot weather.
Monitoring compliance with the restrictions
Compliance with the restrictions will be monitored by the Kyiv Patrol Police. They will monitor the traffic situation and check adherence to the established temperature regime for heavy transport.
Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance to avoid delays when entering the capital on the specified days.
