Turkey’s Position on Peace Settlement
The Office of the President of Turkey emphasized that Ankara continues to advocate for achieving a just peace in the region. The Turkish leader noted that Turkey has consistently supported ideas aimed at establishing lasting peace since the beginning of the war and is interested in involving all parties in the peace process.
“President Erdogan stated that he is closely monitoring the development of the peace process, that Turkey sincerely seeks to achieve a just peace from the beginning of the war, and that in this context, we support approaches aimed at establishing a durable peace involving all parties.”
Dialogue Between Ankara and Moscow
During the conversation, the presidents agreed on the necessity of maintaining an active dialogue between Turkey and Russia. The Kremlin’s press service reported that, in addition to discussing the outcomes of the meeting in Alaska, the parties touched upon the developments surrounding Ukraine. The role of Turkey in facilitating negotiations in Istanbul regarding the resolution of the military conflict was also mentioned.
