Crimean Platform: International Support for Ukraine

The Fifth Summit of the “Crimean Platform” in New York brought together world leaders, representatives of international organizations, parliamentarians from various countries, and experts to discuss ways to de-occupy Crimea and protect the rights of its residents.

The “Crimean Platform” is an international initiative launched by Ukraine to coordinate efforts to liberate the illegally annexed peninsula and protect the rights of Crimeans. The first summit of the platform took place in Kyiv on August 23, 2021, on the eve of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, marking the beginning of a new international format for returning Crimea under Ukrainian sovereignty.

At the first summit, 43 countries signed a joint Declaration calling for the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. It emphasizes that “Russia will not succeed in legitimizing the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol.”
