Young Dnipro Fencers Excel in Team Competitions
The competitions are taking place in the athletics arena of the Ivan Piddubny Olympic Vocational College. Over six days, young fencers are vying for six sets of medals in each category: team and individual.
Students from the capital’s Children and Youth Sports School No. 16, representing the Dnipro District, managed to win bronze medals in the team event for junior foil fencing. The team included Varvara Volkova, Anna Ivanova, and Taisia Ponomarenko. It is worth noting that these athletes competed in the cadet category, facing more experienced and older opponents, yet they demonstrated a high level of preparation and team cohesion.

The Significant Role of the Coach in Achieving Results
A significant contribution to winning the bronze medals was made by coach Natalia Kratko, under whose guidance the girls achieved this success. Representatives of the Dnipro District State Administration emphasized that thanks to the experience, wisdom, and belief of their mentor in her students, the team was able to compete for prize positions.
“The experience, wisdom, and belief of Natalia Kratko in her students created a solid foundation for this victory.”
The Ukrainian Fencing Championship for juniors continues in Kyiv, and new challenges and opportunities for winning awards await the athletes ahead.
