The resolution condemns Russia’s violent actions and its complicity in crimes against Ukrainian children, which include killings, forced relocations and deportations, illegal adoptions, sexual violence, forced Russification, and militarization. The document also calls on the EU to hold those responsible accountable by imposing sanctions on individuals and institutions involved in these crimes.

Main Demands and Calls of the Resolution

  • Immediate cessation of crimes and disclosure of information about all deported children.
  • Ensuring the safe and unconditional return of the displaced children.
  • Granting international organizations access to all Ukrainian children taken to Russia.

Members of the European Parliament also expressed condemnation of the forced imposition of Russian citizenship and state adoption programs, as they are tools of forced assimilation. The resolution clearly states that without the return of the abducted children, it is impossible to achieve true peace and stability.

“Without the return of the abducted children — no genuine peace agreement”
