Exhibition “Vasyl Stus. As Long as We Are Here, Everything Will Be Fine”
The main theme of the exhibition will be the personality of Vasyl Stus, who remained true to his convictions even in the most difficult times. The exhibition immerses visitors in the atmosphere of the era, showcasing archival video materials that help to better understand the historical context of the poet’s life.
Guests of the event will have the opportunity to hear unique audio recordings of Vasyl Stus’s own voice, as well as those of his contemporaries — the sixtiers poets, preserved on tape reels. Special attention will be given to poetic readings: Stus’s poems will be performed by Serhiy Zhadan, Akhtem Seitablaiev, Yaryna Chornoguz, Kateryna Kalytko, Volodymyr Yermolenko, Tetiana Oharokova, and other well-known cultural figures.
Unique Works and Cultural Heritage
In addition to audio and video materials, the exhibition will feature works by prominent sixtiers artists, including Alla Horska, Opanas Zalyvakha, and Halyna Sevruk. Visitors will have the chance to explore the artistic heritage that shaped national identity in the second half of the 20th century.
This is a project about a person who remained true to himself, and whose creativity is inseparable from ethical principles.
The exhibition will be an important event for all those interested in contemporary Ukrainian culture and the history of resistance to totalitarianism through art and word.
