Fire in Abandoned House in Central Kyiv: Causes of the Blaze Under Investigation

On the evening of May 29, a large fire broke out in an evacuated single-story building on Solyana Street in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv. The flames spread over a significant area, but fortunately, there were no casualties.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv, the alarm about the fire was received by rescuers at 10:16 PM. The fire quickly spread throughout the building, covering an area of about 80 square meters.

“On May 29 at 10:16 PM, rescuers received a report of a fire on Solyana Street — a blaze occurred in a single-story evacuated building,” the statement said

Fire Extinguishing and Consequences

Firefighters were able to quickly localize and completely extinguish the fire by 12:07 AM on May 30. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the rescuers, no one was injured, as the building was empty and no longer in use. Several firefighting units were on site.

Currently, law enforcement agencies are investigating the causes of the blaze. Various versions of the incident and possible circumstances surrounding the fire are being considered by the investigation.
