Food-Grade Rubber for Equipment and Food Packaging

Пищевая резина для оборудования и продуктовой тары

According to the requirements of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, there are heightened standards for the quality of food products, as consumer health is directly dependent on it. Strict standardization applies not only to the raw materials used in their production but also to the equipment used in the processing and mixing of ingredients. Additionally, the permissible parameters for the packaging and containers used for portioning products of a specified weight are also strictly regulated. To pass all stages of control and obtain the necessary documents for the commencement of production operations, it often takes a considerable amount of time to prepare all the required paperwork for obtaining permits.

Every detail that does not meet certain requirements can lead to a refusal to launch the technological cycle of the production line, so careful attention must be paid during their design and maintenance to ensure that the food mass does not come into contact with unacceptable components. Typically, equipment made of stainless steel does not raise concerns among sanitary and epidemiological service workers, but only if it is assembled using sealing materials with acceptable technical characteristics. For this reason, food-grade rubber, specially developed by a team of meticulous and talented chemists, is of particular value to engineers. Food-grade rubber is essential in this context.

What are the Features of Food-Grade Rubber

The technical parameters of food-grade rubber are similar to those of analogous types, but there are also significant differences. Here are some of the most important features for practical application:

  1. Sufficient elasticity allows for a tight seal at the junction of two parts even with minimal clamping force. This contributes to the integrity of gaskets and achieves a high degree of airtightness in equipment housings, tanks, barrels, cans, and bottles.
  2. The material retains its elasticity at low temperatures and does not soften at high temperatures, ensuring reliable storage of finished products in freezers and the packaging of still-hot masses into suitable containers.
  3. The raw materials used in production do not contain components that can release toxins into the environment, as well as substances with unpleasant tastes and odors. Additionally, the quality of the finished products is not compromised due to the absence of chemical reactions with organic acids, carbohydrates, fats, oils, and proteins present in the food.

Food-grade rubber is available in sheet form and can come in one of three colors:

  • black;
  • gray;
  • white.

The price per piece depends on their thickness and dimensions, and when purchased in bulk, there is an opportunity to save some money due to discounts offered by sellers for large orders.
