Foreigners Arrested in Kyiv for Stabbing Attack on Turkish Citizen

An intense incident involving a knife occurred in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, resulting in injuries to a Turkish citizen. Law enforcement quickly responded and apprehended the perpetrators in Khmelnytskyi, making significant efforts to establish the circumstances of the crime and their possible connections.

Details of the Attack and Arrest

The incident took place in the courtyard of a building on Dovnar-Zapolskyi Street. According to the head of the Shevchenkivskyi police department, Ihor Padiuk, two foreigners attacked the Turkish citizen, cutting his leg with a knife and stealing two mobile phones and $4,500 from him. After committing the crime, the perpetrators fled in a car.

“It turned out that after committing the crime, the perpetrators arrived at the Central Railway Station, purchased train tickets, and managed to leave the city. Subsequently, in cooperation with the staff of the capital’s criminal investigation department and the KORD fighters in the Khmelnytskyi region, we apprehended them in Khmelnytskyi,” Padiuk reported.

The arrested individuals were identified as 20 and 24-year-old foreigners. During the arrest, a mobile phone and part of the money they had stolen from the victim were confiscated from them. They have been charged with robbery under martial law, which carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property in accordance with Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
