Law enforcement officers have detained one of the former leaders of the municipal enterprise “Kyivzelenbud” on suspicion of overpaying more than 300,000 hryvnias allocated for the improvement of a park in the Darnytsia district of Kyiv.
Suspicion of Large-Scale Budget Misappropriation
The investigation has established that the former official signed acts of completed work with inflated costs for the project and estimate documentation for the renovation of the recreation park. This concerns the area around Lake Srybny Kil, located between Mykola Bazhan Avenue and Srybnokilskyi Street in the Darnytsia district of the capital.
“The former official has been notified of suspicion for misappropriation of budget funds amounting to nearly 350,000 hryvnias allocated for the reconstruction of the park in the Darnytsia district of the capital.”
Qualification of the Crime and Further Actions of the Investigation
The actions of the former official have been classified under part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — misappropriation of someone else’s property committed by an official abusing their official position, in particularly large amounts under martial law. The detained individual faces penalties in accordance with current legislation.
