Investigation of the Zelensky Estate: Unknown Individuals Begin Destruction of Architectural Heritage in Kyiv

Садиба Зеленських: невідомі почали розбирати останні залишки будівлі

Unknown individuals have started dismantling the foundation of the historical Zelensky estate on Konyiskyi Street in Kyiv, which is an architectural heritage site. Despite the promises made by the city mayor Vitali Klitschko regarding its restoration, the work was carried out without the necessary permits and approvals.

This is reported by Kyiv24

This was reported by heritage protector Dmytro Perov on his social media account. He noted:

“Work on dismantling the foundations of the building by a contracting organization was recorded at 22 Konyiskyi Street.”

According to Perov, several rows of foundation masonry were destroyed mechanically, and fragments of yellow historical bricks were found in construction bags left near the work site. This indicates the illegality and lack of coordination of the work with the city’s administrative services.

Legality and Response from Law Enforcement

Perov emphasized that the work was conducted without permits, which was confirmed by representatives of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration and the Department of Territorial Control of Kyiv. The police were called to the scene and arrived quickly; however, the identification and search for those responsible for the illegal work is still ongoing.

The individuals responsible for dismantling the heritage site are subject to liability under current legislation, as the destruction of historical monuments without proper permits is a serious violation.
