The anti-corruption changes for the operation of the Kyiv City Council’s Land Commission, approved by deputies on October 9, are still awaiting the signature of Mayor Vitali Klychko.

It is known that the Kyiv City Council supported the new rules two weeks ago; however, the mayor has yet to approve them. This was reported during the plenary session on October 23 by Kyiv City Council member Viktoriia Ptashnyk, who highlighted the delay in signing.
Questions Regarding the Delay in Signing
Ptashnyk emphasized that the anti-corruption rules have been waiting for Klychko’s signature for a considerable time and expressed hope that the document would be approved soon. She publicly appealed to the mayor, noting that the deputies have already supported the initiative.
“The anti-corruption rules have been on your desk for two weeks, having been reviewed and supported by the Kyiv City Council, and I sincerely hope they will also receive your signature,” Ptashnyk addressed Klychko.
Questions Regarding the Appointment of a New Head of the Land Commission
Additionally, the deputy pointed out a possible connection between the delay in signing the rules and a draft decision in which Klychko proposed appointing Oleksii Maliarievych from the “UDAR” faction as the head of the Land Commission. Viktoriia Ptashnyk stressed that, according to the public movement “Chesno,” this deputy has supported many dubious schemes, including the so-called “toilet” schemes, and also did not vote for the anti-corruption changes and the cancellation of the controversial scheme on Heroiv Sevastopolia Street.
