Details of the Kyiv City Council Decision

During the plenary session of the Kyiv City Council on October 9, 2025, 83 deputies supported the initiative to allocate additional financial assistance to one of the parents or guardians of a newborn child. The aim of this assistance is to alleviate the financial burden on families and ensure that infants have everything they need in the first months of life.

“Financial support is intended to cover expenses for essential items.”

Conditions for Providing and Using the Assistance

The draft decision does not specify the exact amount of cash payments; however, it states that this assistance is intended to cover expenses for the most necessary items: clothing, hygiene products, baby furniture, as well as medical needs for the child. To receive the payment, parents or guardians must submit a personal application and also reach out through Kyiv City Council deputies. In this way, the city aims to support families during this important period by simplifying access to social assistance and enhancing care for the newborn citizens of Kyiv.
