Kyiv Collaborates with the Netherlands on Knife Attack with a Ukrainian Among the Suspects

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has confirmed the existence of information that the suspect in the knife attack on pedestrians in Amsterdam holds Ukrainian citizenship. Spokesperson Georgiy Tikhiy noted that the Ukrainian embassy in the Netherlands is already actively engaging with the law enforcement agencies of that country to obtain additional details about the incident.

Collaboration with the Netherlands

According to Tikhiy, the Ministry is clarifying the identity of the detained individual, as well as the circumstances under which he ended up in the Netherlands. It is emphasized that the Ukrainian side intends to closely cooperate with the local authorities in this matter to ensure justice.

Addressing the Victims

The spokesperson of the Ministry also expressed condolences to the victims of the attack, stating:

“We wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Such violence has no justification, and the perpetrator must be held accountable”

As a reminder, earlier today, local police reported that the suspect, who was detained after the attack, is a 30-year-old citizen of Ukraine from Donetsk. The incident occurred on March 27 in the center of Amsterdam, where five people were injured by knife wounds.
