Kyiv is ready to guarantee the safety of polling stations even under martial law

In the event of presidential elections being announced, the capital has a sufficient number of shelters to accommodate polling stations, ensuring the protection of citizens during voting in wartime.
Enhancing security in the capital
The head of the Obolon District State Administration, Kyrylo Fesyk, reported that over the past three years, Kyiv has significantly strengthened its security infrastructure. According to him, many shelters have been equipped with surveillance cameras and additional security features, which enhances the safety of residents and participants in the electoral process.
“Today, Kyiv and Ukraine as a whole, I won’t speak for all of Ukraine, have actually expanded their security space at a remarkable pace over the past three years. It is indeed possible to ensure a safe space, which, by the way, is equipped with cameras and various security elements in many places,” he said.
Sufficient number of shelters for events
Kyrylo Fesyk emphasized that there are 480 shelters in the Obolon District alone. This figure confidently asserts the presence of the necessary infrastructure for conducting various events, including elections. Thus, all conditions have been created in Kyiv for organizing the electoral process with consideration for the safety of the population.
