Law enforcement officers detained the murder suspect at an apartment in the capital

In the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, police detained a man who, according to the investigation, strangled his acquaintance with metal handcuffs during an argument. The tragedy occurred in one of the high-rise buildings on Antonovycha Street.
Circumstances of the Crime
Medical personnel reported to the police about the discovery of a man’s body in the apartment showing signs of violent death. Investigators established that the deceased was a 34-year-old local resident who had visited his acquaintance for a gathering the day before. In the evening, another man joined the group. A conflict arose between the guests, which escalated into a fight. One of them grabbed the metal handcuffs that were in the apartment and strangled the victim with them, after which he fled the scene.
“At the scene, law enforcement officers established that the deceased was a 34-year-old local resident who had come to visit an acquaintance for a gathering the day before. It was also found that another guest joined the group in the evening. Soon, a conflict arose between the men, which escalated into a fight, during which the perpetrator grabbed the metal handcuffs that were in the apartment and strangled the victim with them before fleeing”.
Detention of the Suspect and Sanction
Thanks to the joint efforts of operatives from the territorial unit, the capital’s main department, and analysts from the criminal analysis sector, the identity of the suspect was established. He turned out to be a 33-year-old native of Chernivtsi who had recently moved to Kyiv. At this time, the man is in custody. For his actions, he faces up to fifteen years of imprisonment under current legislation.
