In the capital, a minibus driver used a hand grenade F-1 during an argument with another driver.

The incident occurred around 6:00 AM at the parking lot of one of the transport companies in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. According to law enforcement, during a conflict between two minibus drivers, one of them threw a hand grenade “F-1” towards the vehicle of a colleague who was just leaving for his route.

Details of the incident and consequences

“One of the drivers threw a hand grenade ‘F-1’ towards another minibus that was departing for its route. Fortunately, no one was injured. The minibus sustained technical damage,” police reported.

After the explosion, an investigative team from the Darnytskyi district police department immediately arrived at the scene. It was established that the grenade was thrown by a 59-year-old local resident, who had previously been held criminally liable for various offenses. He was temporarily residing in Kyiv and worked for a private transportation company.

Legal qualification and punishment

During the investigative actions, the detainee explained that he only wanted to scare his colleague, with whom he had a long-standing conflict. Law enforcement informed the man of his suspicion under part 4 of article 296 (hooliganism using an object specially adapted for causing bodily harm) and part 1 of article 263 (illegal handling of military ammunition) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

For these crimes, the suspect faces up to seven years in prison.
