Court Decision on Protected Status

According to Kyiv human rights defender and head of the public organization «Kyivites Unite» Oleksandr Diadiuk,

“The Kyiv District Administrative Court refused to revoke the heritage protection status of the baths building of merchant Mykhailo Bubnov, located at 13 Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska Street.”

The lawyer added that although the court made this decision, it still needs to go through the appeal process and potentially a cassation appeal. This gives hope for the continued preservation of this historical monument.

Future Challenges and Possible Consequences

Oleksandr Diadiuk emphasized that public attention and awareness of this case could play a key role in preventing the destruction of the building. He expressed hope that an active civic stance and legal protection would prevent the demolition of this historical monument and the construction of a new building that would destroy this valuable architectural object.
