Reconstruction of a Strategic Object
The bridge that is set to be repaired was built during the Soviet era. In recent years, experts have noted significant deformations in its structures. Particularly serious problems were identified about two years ago. Since 2019, concrete has been crumbling from the overpass, significantly increasing the risk of the entire structure collapsing.
“The bridge was constructed back in the USSR, and about two years ago, significant deformations were found in its structures. Additionally, since 2019, concrete has been falling off the overpass, which could lead to structural failure.”
Tender and Participants
Only two companies participated in the competition for the right to carry out the major renovation – LLC “Ukrtransmist” and LLC “Rostdorstroy”. The winner was LLC “Ukrtransmist”, while the sole competitor only reduced the price by a small percentage from the initial procurement amount. Such minimal competition drew additional attention to the tender process.
It is worth noting that these same two companies participated in a similar tender last year, when they competed for a contract worth 285 million UAH for the repair of the bridge at the intersection of Luhova and Bohatyrska Streets in the Obolon district of Kyiv. Even then, the discount from the expected cost was also minimal.
