Massive Russian Strike on Kyiv: Nine People Killed, Buildings Damaged

During the night, Russian occupiers launched a large-scale combined attack on Kyiv, using drones, ballistic and cruise missiles. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, nine people were killed in the attack, and over 70 were injured, including six children. Rescuers worked at 13 locations in the city, addressing the aftermath of the destruction and fires.

Debris Removal and Search for Missing Children

The most significant destruction was recorded in the Sviatoshynskyi district, where debris removal from a damaged apartment building is ongoing. Engineering units, climbers, search dogs, and other emergency services are involved in the response efforts.

“We can hear phone calls from under the rubble — the search will continue until we are sure that everyone has been rescued. There is information about two children who are still unaccounted for at the scene,”

the rescue service reported. Search operations are ongoing, and the city is conducting measures to check on residents and assist those affected.

Shelling Across the Country and Its Impact on Rescuers

In addition to Kyiv, Russian forces struck nine regions of Ukraine, causing around forty fire outbreaks. Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia were affected. As a result of the shelling, firefighting and rescue units were constantly active, particularly in Zhytomyr, where the enemy re-attacked a State Emergency Service unit, injuring a 39-year-old rescuer.
