Ministry of Culture Calls to Preserve the Foundation of the Razumovsky Palace in Central Kyiv

The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine has confirmed that it has not issued any permits to the developer for the demolition of the foundation of the historic palace of Hetman Kyrylo Razumovsky, located in central Kyiv at 3v and 3h Ivan Mazepa Street.

The Ministry Demands Immediate Cessation of Work

In an official statement, the ministry emphasizes that no approvals for demolition work at this site have been granted. In April 2025, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine issued an order for the immediate cessation of any earthworks or construction activities and also fined the developer 170,000 hryvnias.

“The ministry did not grant any permits for the work. In April 2025, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications issued an order for the immediate cessation of any earthworks or construction activities and imposed a fine of 170,000 hryvnias on the developer,” the statement reads.

Responsibility for the Protection of the Landmark and the Current Condition of the Site

According to current legislation, the approval of projects or any works that may affect the condition of a local landmark falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration. At this time, all construction work at the site has been halted.
