“Ukrzaliznytsia” has announced the launch of regional express No. 856/855 on the route Zhytomyr – Kyiv – Zhytomyr.

Schedule of the New Electric Train
The new modernized electric train will depart on its first trip on June 27, 2025. On weekdays, the express will run daily. Starting June 27, train No. 855 from Kyiv to Zhytomyr will depart from Kyiv at 17:48 and from Fastiv at 18:30. Arrival in Zhytomyr is scheduled for 19:58.
From June 30, train No. 856 will start operating in the direction of Zhytomyr – Kyiv. Departure from Zhytomyr will be at 06:18, and from Fastiv at 07:49. Arrival in Kyiv is expected at 08:44. Beginning August 1, the service on this route will be expedited: train No. 856 from Zhytomyr to Kyiv will depart from Zhytomyr at 06:18, from Fastiv at 07:49, with arrival in the capital at 08:37.
Comfort and Accessibility for Passengers
The route will be served by a modernized electric train with third-class seating. The train’s interior is designed for comfortable travel: it is bright, spacious, and accommodates passengers with various needs. An inclusive cabin is available for people with disabilities, as well as designated spaces for transporting bicycles.
Tickets for the new express will be available 10 days before the departure date through the “Ukrzaliznytsia” app and official website.

“Ukrzaliznytsia” also reminds that there are currently daily suburban trains operating between Zhytomyr and Kyiv: No. 7034 (departing from Zhytomyr at 07:48, arriving in Kyiv at 11:35) and No. 7037 (departing from Kyiv at 15:29, arriving in Zhytomyr at 18:53).
