Nearly 80 Fires Occurred in Kyiv Last Week: Rescuers Saved 52 People

Kyiv rescuers extinguished nearly 80 fires last week and saved 52 people during emergencies and the aftermath of Russian shelling.

Statistics on Responses and Complex Incidents

According to the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv, over the past week, rescuers made 140 trips to respond to various emergency events. The largest number of incidents involved fires — 79 were recorded. In addition, 38 trips were made to address the consequences of enemy shelling and to survey the areas, while rescuers assisted the public and other services on 25 occasions. A separate trip was made to address the aftermath of an accident, and 30 calls turned out to be false alarms.

Saved Lives and Losses

“52 individuals were rescued during the extinguishing of fires and the aftermath of enemy shelling. Unfortunately, as a result of the enemy shelling on August 28, 25 people lost their lives,” the State Emergency Service reported.

Rescuers emphasize that their work is often associated with high risks, especially during the aftermath of attacks from the Russian Federation. As a result of one of the most tragic shellings that occurred on August 28, 25 people died.

The State Emergency Service urges residents of the capital to adhere to safety rules, remain vigilant to air raid signals, and immediately report emergencies to the emergency services.
