New Homes for Rescued Spurred Tortoises Established at Kyiv Zoo

У Київзоо показали домівку для врятованих черепах

New modern homes have been created for spurred tortoises rescued from the consequences of war at Kyiv Zoo.

This is reported by Kyiv24

Currently, around twenty of these tortoises reside in the zoo, each undergoing long-term rehabilitation. To ensure their full recovery and socialization, the zoo staff have created conditions that closely resemble their natural habitat.

Establishment of New Farms for Tortoises

Three additional picturesque farms have been built for the spurred tortoises at Kyiv Zoo. Here, the animals live in separate groups, which promotes their peaceful existence and adaptation. The area of their homes is equipped with sunny clearings, dense grasses and bushes, shaded shelters, wooden canopies, sandy pools, and feeding spots. The tortoises’ diet consists of nutritious food, and their neighbors in the enclosures are friendly.

“Thus, we have created three additional picturesque farms in our park where the tortoises live in separate groups. Sun, green grasses and bushes, shady shelters and wooden canopies, sandy pools, delicious nutritious food, and good neighbors – this is exactly what our rescued residents need for a comfortable life. Come for some positivity!” – invites the zoo administration.
