Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with her Norwegian counterpart Jonas Gahr Støre in Kyiv, during which a new financial aid package for Ukraine from Norway was announced. According to Svyrydenko, Ukraine will receive 9 billion dollars in support from Oslo in 2026.

Support for Ukraine under the Nansen Program and Strengthening Air Defense
As noted by the head of the Ukrainian government, this aid encompasses both military and civilian components within the Nansen Program. In her address, Svyrydenko thanked the Prime Minister of Norway for announcing the new support package during his visit to Kyiv.
“Norway is providing Ukraine with $9 billion in funding for this year. This is another package of military and civilian assistance to Ukraine under the Nansen Program. I thank the Prime Minister of Norway for this announcement made during his visit to Kyiv,” said the head of the government.
Svyrydenko emphasized that Norway remains the largest donor of the PURL initiative, which significantly enhances the capabilities of Ukraine’s air defense.
Energy Security and Investment Prospects
During the negotiations between representatives of the two countries, the main focus was on energy security issues. The Ukrainian Prime Minister highlighted the importance of Norway’s support regarding gas imports, as well as contributions to the Energy Support Fund and grants for Ukraine.
In addition, Norway will provide equipment for distributed generation, which will be used at Naftogaz Group facilities. The parties also discussed the possibility of implementing promising investment projects that could receive support through Norfund instruments.
It is worth noting that Jonas Gahr Støre has not publicly commented on the results of the meeting so far.
On February 12, Norway also announced the purchase of a large batch of French guided bombs as part of a bilateral agreement on military support for Ukraine.
