The Threat from Russia and Historical Experience
The head of the Robotic Complex Service of the “Da Vinci Wolves” battalion, Oleksandr Yabchanka, is convinced that national unity and civic consciousness are key factors in the fight against the aggressor. He noted that Russia continues to seek to destroy Ukraine as an independent state and warned of even greater brutality from the enemy in the event of a loss of statehood. Yabchanka cited the tragedies in Bucha, Irpin, and Borodyanka, which have become symbols of the crimes of the Russian army, and stressed that if such scenarios were to repeat, the scale of violence could be even greater.
“We must realize one very simple and very unfortunate truth: Russia, in its current state, is relentlessly trying to destroy us as a state. Secondly, we must understand what destruction as a state means for us. Remember Bucha, Irpin, Borodyanka. God forbid, if the Russians succeed in destroying our state, it will be much, much harsher. Because from that point on, they will have become even more deranged,” said Yabchanka.
Unity of Citizens — The Path to Victory
Yabchanka emphasized that if Ukrainians do not behave as conscious citizens and ignore their role in society, Ukraine may lose its chance for victory. The military officer stressed that the state must do everything possible to deprive Russia of the ability to harm Ukrainians, and only then will the Russian Federation be forced to retreat from Ukrainian territory. In his opinion, faith in one’s own strength and civic solidarity will create the conditions under which the aggressor will cease hostile actions against Ukraine.
