A mass brawl occurred on the platform of the Obolon metro station in the capital, resulting in the police detaining seven young individuals, five of whom are minors.

Details of the Incident at Obolon Metro

The incident took place on Sunday, October 12, around 9:30 PM on the platform of the Obolon metro station in Kyiv. According to preliminary information, a group of young men attacked a 24-year-old local resident. In front of passengers, the assailants knocked the man to the ground and began to strike him with their hands and feet.

“A group of young men collectively attacked a 24-year-old local resident, knocked him to the ground, and began to beat him with their hands and feet. Law enforcement officers stopped the altercation and took all participants to the police room,” the statement said.

Participants in the Fight and Police Actions

Among those detained, five individuals turned out to be teenagers aged 13 to 17, while two others were young men aged 19 and 21. According to the participants in the fight, they attacked the victim because he allegedly insulted their friend.

Law enforcement officers interviewed the minor participants and handed them over to their parents. Investigators from the metro police classified the incident under part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – this is a gross violation of public order committed by a group of individuals out of clear disrespect for society.
