Putin Not Ready for Compromise on Ukraine and Seeks Victory on the Front — US Intelligence

Путін переконаний, що здатний перемогти Україну на полі бою – дані розвідки

American intelligence agencies have concluded that Vladimir Putin is determined to continue waging a full-scale war against Ukraine, hoping to gain an advantage on the battlefield. These analytical findings were recently presented to members of the US Congress, indicating a lack of any signs of Russia’s willingness to compromise on the Ukrainian issue, even amid international efforts for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Putin’s Position and Russia’s Strategy

According to intelligence data, the leader of the Russian Federation has only strengthened his position, which he has consistently maintained since 2022. Despite significant losses among personnel and serious economic problems, Putin aims to retain the occupied territories of Ukraine and expand his country’s influence. Analysts note that in this way he is trying to justify the substantial human and financial losses that Russia has suffered during the war.

“Faced with significant losses of Russian troops and economic failures, he seeks to ensure the security of (occupied) Ukrainian lands and expand his country’s presence to justify the human and financial losses.”

Comments on Peace Negotiations and the Role of the US

In the White House, responding to the assessment from American intelligence, the importance of reaching a peace agreement was emphasized. They also mentioned public statements made by former President Donald Trump, who highlighted the need to cease hostilities and reach an agreement to end the war. Administration representatives noted that the United States continues to support the idea of a peaceful resolution, but stressed that lasting peace is only possible if Russia shows a willingness to engage in dialogue based on goodwill principles.

Recently, Donald Trump, commenting on the testing of the Russian missile “Burevestnik,” also stated that Putin should seek ways to end the war in Ukraine rather than engage in missile testing. Trump emphasized that the war, which he claimed should have lasted only a week, has now dragged on into its fourth year, and ending the conflict should be a priority for the Kremlin.
