Attacks on American Businesses: Scale of Damages
Sybiha reported that over the past year, Russian strikes have led to damage to Boeing’s office in Kyiv, a major electronics manufacturer from the U.S. in Transcarpathia, and other enterprises. The minister emphasized that about half of the members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine have suffered from destruction or damage to property of varying degrees during the full-scale war.
“Russia has systematically attacked American businesses in Ukraine. Last year, Russian strikes damaged Boeing offices in Kyiv, a major American electronics manufacturer in Transcarpathia, and other facilities. During the full-scale war, approximately half of the members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine have experienced damage or destruction of their facilities to varying extents,” the minister stated.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that such actions by the Russian Federation demonstrate Vladimir Putin’s “complete disregard” for the peace initiatives proposed with the involvement of U.S. President Donald Trump. He stressed the need to intensify peace efforts, as well as to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and increase sanctions pressure on Russia. The minister added that the lack of response from Moscow to Kyiv’s peace steps should have consequences, and the Kremlin must feel the seriousness of this “price.”
Consequences of the Strike in Dnipro and the Position of the International Community
The mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, reported that as a result of the missile strike on the city roads, 300 tons of oil spilled due to damage to the facility owned by the American company Bunge. At this time, Bunge itself has not officially commented on the situation.
Russian forces continue to shell Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons: strike drones, missiles, aerial bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems. Despite this, Russian leadership denies targeted strikes on civilian infrastructure, claiming that it does not attack the civilian population or energy facilities, hospitals, schools, and kindergartens.
At the same time, Ukrainian authorities, along with international organizations, classify these actions as war crimes, emphasizing their intentional nature and the destruction of the country’s critical infrastructure.
