Progress of the Talks in Miami
According to Russian media, the negotiations between Dmitriev and representatives of the US administration began at eight in the morning local time, which corresponds to 3:00 PM in Kyiv. The details of the discussed issues are currently not being disclosed.
Changes in the Composition of Participants for the Upcoming Round
As reported by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoys of President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who participated in previous negotiations in Abu Dhabi, will not take part in the new round on February 1. However, according to Rubio, other representatives from the US may arrive in Abu Dhabi.
On January 23 and 24, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, trilateral negotiations involving delegations from the US, Russia, and Ukraine took place in Abu Dhabi regarding the resolution of the war. The Russian delegation was led by the head of military intelligence GRU, while high-ranking politicians from Ukraine, including the head of the President’s Office and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, participated as well.
The previous round of negotiations was an important event, as it brought together delegations from the US, Russia, and Ukraine to discuss ways to end the war. It is expected that the new talks in Abu Dhabi may provide additional momentum in seeking solutions to cease hostilities.
