Ukrainian Delegation Begins Talks in the U.S.

Earlier that day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that members of the Ukrainian delegation had already arrived in the U.S. According to him, the dialogue with the American side will continue based on the agreements reached during the previous meeting in Geneva.

“The American side is showing constructiveness, and it is quite realistic to finalize steps in the coming days to determine how to honorably end the war. The Ukrainian delegation has the necessary directives, and I expect the team to work according to clear Ukrainian priorities,” he stated.

Changes in the Negotiating Team

On November 29, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, headed a new delegation that traveled to the U.S. to discuss a peaceful settlement. Prior to this, Zelensky signed a decree approving the updated composition of the Ukrainian negotiating group participating in consultations with the United States and Russia regarding “achieving a fair and sustainable peace.” Rustem Umerov took this position after Andriy Yermak’s resignation as head of the President’s Office.

The main goal of the Ukrainian delegation’s visit is to develop specific steps for ending the war in accordance with Ukrainian priorities and achieving lasting peace.
