Plans of Russian Special Services to Destabilize Kyiv

Ukrainian special services managed to prevent large-scale diversions planned by Russian terrorists. Among the enemy’s plans were contract killings of prominent Ukrainian citizens, explosions in shopping centers, and at one of the stations of the Kyiv metro.

The investigation conducted allowed for the identification of the organizer of these crimes — a resident of the temporarily occupied Crimea. After the peninsula was seized, he began collaborating with Russian special services, actively involving like-minded individuals, including Ukrainian citizens who were not subject to mobilization due to their age.

Agents, Weapons, and Explosives: Details of the Uncovered Scheme

The SBU established that the organizer was recruiting acquaintances in Crimea to carry out tasks for the FSB. One of the recruited agents managed to reach Kyiv, crossing the border through third countries. Upon arrival in the capital, he received the coordinates of a hideout where a Makarov pistol with ammunition was located.

It was with this weapon that the agent was to carry out the contract killing of a Ukrainian media figure. In addition, he was tasked with preparing terrorist attacks in several capital shopping malls and at a metro station. To implement the plans, the agent received detailed instructions on how to make homemade explosive devices, which were disguised in backpacks.

“Each explosive device was to be equipped with a mobile phone for remote detonation during peak hours when there would be the highest concentration of people at the locations. In this way, the enemy planned to spread panic among the residents of the capital to destabilize the socio-political situation in Kyiv.”

Thanks to the operational actions of the Security Service, the agent was uncovered, and all his contacts with the FSB were documented. The resident from Crimea has been notified of suspicion in absentia. Since he is located in the temporarily occupied territory, measures are ongoing to hold him accountable. The investigation into the entire network of FSB agents continues.
