In Kyiv, law enforcement officers have arrested a 22-year-old man suspected of raping an 11-year-old schoolgirl. It is known that the suspect met the girl through a dating app and communicated with her in a chat for two weeks.

Details of the Crime and Investigation Progress

After their online communication, the suspect invited the child for a walk in the park. While together, he took her to an abandoned building where he committed the crime. Afterward, the man attempted to conceal evidence by deleting the girl’s messaging history and his own contact from her phone.

The victim told her mother about the incident, who immediately reported it to the police. Law enforcement conducted operational search measures and identified the perpetrator.

“For a day, police operatives searched for the perpetrator — he turned out to be a 22-year-old native of Sumy, currently residing in Kyiv. The police arrested the suspect under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine,” the authorities reported.

Sanctions and Further Actions by Law Enforcement

The man has currently been charged under Part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – rape of a person under the age of fourteen. If found guilty, he faces up to 15 years of imprisonment.

By court decision, the suspect has been taken into custody without the right to bail. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
