According to the head of the Public Council at the Kyiv City State Administration, Hennadiy Kryvosheya, activists have noticed preparatory work being conducted on the hippodrome territory. They express concerns about the legality of these actions and believe that preparations are underway for a development that may contradict the intended purpose of the land.
Details of the Kyiv City Council Decision and Reactions from Tenants
It is known that on November 21, 2024, the Kyiv City Council made a decision to withdraw a land plot of 44 acres from the hippodrome. This area was leased for two years to LLC “Senekvitrek” and the children’s sports equestrian club “Avangard” for the construction and maintenance of administrative buildings.
Initially, the possibility of leasing this land for 10 years was considered. Activists claim that such decisions may be part of a scheme to seize part of the hippodrome territory under the guise of sports development. They emphasize that the tenants are ignoring the directives of the landscaping inspectors and are not providing any permitting documents.
“Activists believe that this is one of the schemes to pocket part of the hippodrome land. The tenants do not respond to the directives of the landscaping inspectors, and no permits are being shown.”
