Unique Historical Artifacts of Kievan Rus

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore rare artifacts from the era of Kievan Rus. Among them are coins from the collection of the National Museum of History of Ukraine, as well as a treasure of coins from the early 11th century, which was discovered in 2020 near the village of Horodnytsia in the Zhytomyr region.

These finds hold particular significance for the history of the state. The trident is depicted on the coins for the first time – the emblem that has become a symbol of independent Ukraine. The minting of its own coins in Kievan Rus serves as evidence of the emergence of its statehood.
