The President of Ukraine Comments on the Restrictions of the Head of the Kyiv Military Administration

Президент відреагував на спробу Кличка обмежити повноваження очільника КМВА

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his position regarding the attempts by the capital’s leadership to limit the powers of the head of the Kyiv Military Administration (KVA), Timur Tkachенко. According to him, there will be a corresponding legal response to any violations of the law.

The head of state made this statement during a conversation with journalists in Kyiv. He noted:

“It is not my authority to manage Kyiv. I know that the mayor and his entourage have taken steps to limit certain powers of the military administration. Honestly, I do not have the time to deal with restrictions, nor do I have the authority to respond to those restrictions. I am focused on other matters.”

The President also added that, although he does not possess all the details of the situation, he is aware that

“anything that violates the law will receive a corresponding legal response.”

Earlier, the Kyiv City Council prepared a document stating that all orders from the head of the KVA, Timur Tkachенко, would only take effect after being signed by Mayor Vitali Klitschko. This decision significantly limits the powers of the head of the KVA and effectively deprives him of independence. It is known that this decision was adopted at a plenary session on April 3 with numerous violations of the Regulations.
