“Kyiv leads in the number of missing and lost weapons — 78.5 thousand units. In second place is Donetsk region — 72.2 thousand weapons. Following are Mykolaiv region (50.1 thousand), Kyiv region (50.1 thousand), and Zaporizhzhia region (36.9 thousand),” the report states.

Which Types of Weapons Are Disappearing Most Often
The most frequently lost weapons are automatic rifles — over 149 thousand units, accounting for nearly a third of the total. The second most common is hunting weapons: more than 135 thousand losses. A significant portion also consists of carbines, rubber bullet pistols, and combat pistols — together, these make up about a quarter of all cases.
Particularly, AK-74 automatic rifles are disappearing en masse — over 99 thousand cases in a year, as well as Makarov pistols — more than 21 thousand cases.
Analysts point out that in the vast majority of cases, the weapons are lost rather than stolen: 94 percent of incidents are losses, while thefts account for only 6 percent.
