Three Deaths from COVID-19 Complications and Over 10,000 Cases of Flu and ARVI Recorded in Kyiv in One Week

During the 52nd week of 2025, Kyiv registered 10,079 new cases of influenza, acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), and COVID-19.

According to the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, the incidence rate was 341.4, which is 37.8% lower than the average intensity level. Compared to the previous week, the number of sick individuals decreased by 6.2%. The decline in indicators was recorded among both the adult and child populations.

Trends in Illness Among Children and Adults

Of all the cases, 6,186 were children, accounting for 61.4% of the total number of cases. Among schoolchildren, 3,498 cases were recorded. The number of adults who fell ill during the week was 3,893.

COVID-19 cases were recorded in 28 adults. A total of 190 people with flu and ARVI were hospitalized, of which 140 were children. Fourteen adults with COVID-19 were hospitalized.

Hospitalizations and Fatalities

During the week, three adult patients with COVID-19 were in intensive care units. In total, three deaths due to complications caused by the coronavirus infection were registered in the capital over the week.
