Three Drug Dealers Selling Cannabis-Infused E-Cigarettes Arrested in Kyiv

Law enforcement in Kyiv conducted a large-scale special operation, resulting in the arrest of three individuals suspected of illegal trade in e-cigarettes containing narcotic substances. According to the Kyiv city prosecutor’s office, the organizer of this scheme turned out to be a 38-year-old resident of Kyiv. His accomplices, a 33-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, were selling the “product” through postal shipments.

Reports indicate that during searches, law enforcement seized a significant quantity of prohibited substances and weapons from the offenders. Among the seized items were boxes of cigarettes containing narcotic substances, containers with a liquid resembling cannabis extract, about 300 grams of a powdery substance resembling cocaine, mobile phones, and a notebook with “accounting” records. The value of the seized drugs on the “black” market is estimated to exceed 1.5 million hryvnias.

Weapons and Ammunition

Additionally, in the organizer’s home hideouts, law enforcement discovered an AK-47 assault rifle, a Uzi submachine gun, bodies of RGD and RGN grenades, a URZGM detonator, as well as other weapons and ammunition.

Legal Consequences and Circumstances of the Case

All three suspects have been notified of suspicion under parts 2 and 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal storage and sale of narcotic substances in large and especially large quantities. The organizer is also charged under part 1 of Article 263 — illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives.

Sanctions for these articles provide for up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Currently, all suspects have been taken into custody with a chosen preventive measure.
