Starting today and at least until the end of 2025, traffic across the bridge connecting the right and left banks of the Desenka River will be disrupted due to ongoing major repairs. This is related to the planned emergency works on the bridge, which was built in 1974 and last repaired in 2005.

Details of Restrictions and Repair Works
According to municipal services, traffic will be restricted to the second, third, and fourth lanes towards the “Pochayna” metro station. Meanwhile, traffic will be allowed in two separated lanes on the opposite side of the bridge towards the Troieshchyna residential area. Public transport will operate in the far-right lane, which will remain designated for public transport.
“From May 9 and approximately until the end of 2025, traffic will be partially restricted on the bridge over the Desenka River,” reports KP “Kyivavtoshlyakhmist”.
What the Repairs Entail
The repair works cover a section approximately 800 meters long. Specialists plan to partially restore the bridge’s structures, replace the beams of the span structures, repair the supports, and the reinforced concrete slabs of the roadway. A new waterproofing layer and asphalt concrete surface will also be installed, which will enhance the durability and safety of traffic. It is noted that these measures are necessary due to the bridge’s operational history and its condition.
Previously, in 2022-2024, the entire roadway in the direction from the right to the left bank was already repaired, and partially in the opposite direction, which significantly reduced traffic jams and improved passage. Now, however, more repair works remain to be done to enhance safety and durability.
