Pressure on Ukraine regarding a peace agreement

In his interview with Fox News, Trump announced that Thursday, November 27, has been set as the deadline for the Ukrainian authorities to agree to a peace proposal supported by the U.S. He noted that while he had set various deadlines in the past, Thursday is currently considered the appropriate moment for a decision.

“I have had many deadlines, but if everything goes well, deadlines are usually extended. But Thursday is what we consider the right time,” Trump said.

It has been reported that the Trump administration threatened to halt the transfer of intelligence information and arms sales to Ukraine if Kyiv does not sign the peace agreement proposed by the U.S. This information was provided by sources familiar with the situation.

A difficult choice for Ukraine

On the evening of November 21, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized in his video address that the country is facing one of the most challenging moments in its history. He highlighted that Ukraine is currently under significant pressure and is forced to choose between losing its dignity and the risk of losing a key partner. Zelensky also described the upcoming winter as the hardest for Ukrainians.

The peace plan prepared by the Trump administration includes, among other things, the effective surrender of Donbas and a reduction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces by half. Western media reported that the plan was developed with the involvement of representatives from Russia, but Europe and Ukraine were not included in its creation. Kyiv is expected to make a decision regarding the plan in the coming days, as insisted by Washington.

President Zelensky received a copy of this plan and expressed his readiness to work with the American side to achieve a dignified end to the war. The President’s Office noted that Kyiv and Washington agreed to collaborate on the points of the document to ensure a fair peace.

At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia is open to negotiations with Ukraine regarding the end of the war, but currently, no peace plan is being discussed.
