Trump stated that Ukraine can restore its borders with the support of the EU and NATO

Україна за підтримки ЄС може повернути територію країни «у її первісному вигляді»

U.S. President Donald Trump is convinced that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, has a real chance to reclaim its territories to the state that existed before the onset of the full-scale war. He emphasized the importance of financial support from Europe, as well as NATO’s role in this process.

Support from Europe and prospects for restoration

According to Trump, the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity is possible with patience, coordinated efforts, and substantial financial assistance from the European Union and NATO. Trump stressed that Ukraine has all the capabilities to fight and regain its territories, and restoring the borders that existed before the start of Russian aggression is a completely achievable goal.

“I believe that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, has all the capabilities to fight and restore all of Ukraine to its original form. With time, patience, and financial support from Europe, particularly NATO, restoring the borders that existed before the war began is a completely realistic option,” he wrote on social media.

Russia in a deadlock and a call to action

Donald Trump emphasized that Russia has been waging war for over three and a half years without a clear objective, although, according to him, “real military strength” would require less than a week to achieve victory. He noted that this situation does not enhance the prestige of the Russian Federation. Trump also added that Ukraine is capable not only of restoring its pre-war borders but possibly achieving even greater successes.

Trump believes that Putin and Russia are in a difficult economic situation, and now is the favorable moment for Ukraine to act decisively. He emphasized that the U.S. will continue to supply weapons to NATO so that the Alliance can use them at its discretion.

On September 23, the U.S. president held a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, during which they discussed issues related to Russia’s war against Ukraine and the possibilities of reducing Russia’s revenues from fossil fuel exports. Donald Trump also spoke for over an hour with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who described the conversation as “very good and constructive.”
