Strategic Partnership for Strengthening Defense

According to Denys Shmyhal, the signing of the document with the Norwegian defense minister opens the way for scaling production capacities and strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. The first phase of cooperation will be the launch of a pilot production line in 2026, which will allow for the prompt commencement of manufacturing modern Ukrainian drones. Concurrently, there are plans to increase production volumes and further develop joint technologies.

“Ukraine and Norway will jointly produce Ukrainian drones. The relevant document was signed with the Norwegian Minister of Defense, Tore Sandvik. This is an important step that will allow us to scale our capabilities and strengthen Ukraine’s defense,” the defense minister reported.

Experience Exchange and Technological Cooperation

Ukraine is ready to share its experience and innovative solutions in the field of drone production with Norway. In return, our country will gain access to powerful production facilities in Norway, which will provide Ukrainian military personnel with modern drones. Furthermore, the cooperation includes the implementation of joint research and design projects with leading Norwegian institutions.

Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Norway for its support, emphasizing that the implementation of this project is a vivid example of international cooperation aimed at strengthening the defense capabilities of all countries striving for freedom.

It is worth noting that the program to support Ukraine under the “Nansen” initiative was launched in Norway in February 2023. In November 2024, Norwegian political forces reached an agreement to expand and extend this program for another three years, until 2030.
