In 2024, Ukraine spent $62,500 on lobbying in the United States, which, according to the Opendatabot portal, is significantly lower compared to Russia, which spent over $460,000 to promote its interests in the US, seven times more.

Lobbying Expenses Over the Years
It was also noted that compared to 2023, Ukraine invested six times less in lobbying in the US. Since the beginning of 2022, Ukraine has allocated over $5.4 million to lobby for its interests in America. In contrast, Russia spent $11.8 million on lobbying during the same period, which is 2.2 times more.
Trends in Other Countries
The project also highlights overall trends of reduced lobbying expenses among other countries. For example, Poland cut its funding for lobbyists in the US by five times, spending $245,200 in 2024.
“Russia, on the other hand, reduced its state funding for lobbyists by 18 times, cutting expenses to $461,200 in 2024. However, even after such a reduction, Russia still spends 7.4 times more on lobbying in the US than Ukraine, and almost twice as much as Poland,” the material states.
Additionally, in March 2024, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law regulating the lobbying market in Ukraine, indicating an intensification of legislative initiatives in this area.
